June at Simmons Family Farm: Blooming Flowers, Farm Friends & Summer Events

Published on June 24, 2026 at 3:06 PM

After a cold late spring and an abnormally dry early summer it has been a huge relief to see the flowers start to bloom. The yarrow pictured above are really showing off their colors. We have dahlias , snapdragons & lisianthus all looking great and ready to be added to our bouquets .

I have finished painting the farm store and Anthony has put a new face on the old store counter so we will be ready to open as soon as the flowers & vegetables are ready to pick. We will also have 1lb jars of spreadable honey from our farm bee keeper David for sale .

If you're interested in our 4 week bouquet subscription, sign up for our farm newsletter and get info on that as well as our July "Sunset Sip & Bloom" bouquet making class.

There is still time to start your summer vacation right  by joining us on the farm on Saturday June 27th at 10 am  for a reading of the new book  Eve , a Brave Little Cow by local resident Cory Thurston . Cory will be reading her book, explaining her inspiration for the book  and answering questions . There will be copies of the book available  to purchase. We may even be able to get the shy subject Eve to allow a few pats by our visitors if we are lucky ( and she's in a good mood )  This is a event for all ages.

Admission is $5/person, children under 2 are free .
